Bidets: comparing fittings, controls and care

Bidets come in several forms: portable bottles, hand-held sprays and toilet-seat attachments. Some use an electrical supply; others do not.

For a seat attachment, compare the toilet shape, mounting-hole spacing, water connections and available space with the exact model instructions. Heated models also have electrical requirements.

Ask a qualified installer about the applicable plumbing, backflow-protection and electrical requirements. Do not treat a generic article as installation instructions for a particular model.

For portable bottles, check capacity, nozzle design and cleaning instructions. Follow the manufacturer guidance for filling, use and storage.
